D & R Consulting - About Us

Dan and Roberta Skoda are the principals of D & R Consulting and have been partners for more than 30 years. Roberta has been Dan’s personal consultant throughout his extensive retail career providing objective input relative to major business decisions and other important issues.

Roberta’s education in math and physics has complimented Dan’s more subjective instruction and experiences in marketing and management. Roberta provides the financial management of the company, while Dan focuses on the opportunities for
D & R Consulting’s Clients.

Dan’s most recent corporate position was as President of Marshall Fields. He brought a wealth of experience in customer service, team leadership, targeted merchandise strategies, store planning and execution, expense management, productivity and profitability to Fields. Dan developed measurable customer service standards, focused on upscale merchandise assortments, oversaw store renovations and expansions and provided consistent sales growth and profit improvement.

Before joining Fields, Dan was Senior Vice President of Stores at Neiman Marcus. In his eleven years with Neiman Marcus, Dan opened and managed stores in New York and Chicago, and served in regional and corporate merchandising positions. Dan also held store management and merchandising positions at Lord and Taylor.
